Clear answers before a sales call

Local SEO FAQs for home-service contractors.

Pricing, timelines, Google Maps, reviews, citations, contracts and what the $299 plan actually covers—answered without agency fog.

How to use these answers

Start with the business question, then inspect the search signal.

Local SEO questions rarely have a useful one-word answer. A ranking problem may actually be a profile eligibility issue, a weak service page, conflicting business data or a market where proximity shapes the result more than copy changes can. These answers separate what SMBify can improve from what no agency controls.

The same principle applies to price and timing. The $299 plan has a defined scope, but the work order changes with the starting point. A new contractor needs a clean foundation. An established shop may need consolidation, stronger service architecture or a better review workflow. Use the sections below to understand the model, then bring the website and market details to the free audit for a specific recommendation.

Plan & pricing

What am I buying?

1. What does SMBify cost?

The standard local SEO plan costs $299 per month for each active business location. There is no setup fee and no annual agreement. A second location brings the total to $598 per month because it needs separate profile, citation, page and tracking work.

2. What is included in the $299 plan?

The plan can include Google Business Profile optimization, priority on-page local SEO, citation cleanup and building, review-process support, local rank tracking, technical essentials, relevant authority opportunities and a plain-English monthly update. The audit determines the priority mix; every task does not repeat at the same volume every month.

3. Is there really no long-term contract?

Correct. The plan is month to month. You can cancel before the next billing cycle. SMBify would rather earn another month through useful work than hold a client through paperwork.

4. Are paid ads, website design and content libraries included?

No. The standard fee is for focused local SEO. Advertising spend and management, a full website build, major custom development and a large publishing program require separate scope if they are needed. Nothing is silently added to the invoice.

Results & rankings

What should I expect?

5. How long does local SEO take?

There is no honest universal timeline. A clear technical or profile error may be corrected quickly, while movement in a competitive map pack can take months. Starting visibility, market density, proximity, website quality, review profile and competitor strength all affect the pace.

6. Do you guarantee a top-three Google Maps ranking?

No. An agency cannot control Google, searcher location or competitor activity. SMBify commits to transparent work, accurate reporting and a disciplined process—not a specific position by a promised date.

7. Can you make me rank in cities where I do not have an office?

We can improve website relevance for places the business genuinely serves, but proximity remains important in map results. We do not create fake offices, virtual locations or doorway pages. A service-area page should contain real local usefulness, not just a changed city name.

8. Will citations alone improve my rankings?

Citations support business identity and consistency, but they are one layer. Strong local visibility also depends on the Google Business Profile, relevant website pages, reviews, proximity and authority. Citation count by itself is not a strategy.

How the work runs

What happens each month?

9. What happens in the first month?

We audit the website, Google Business Profile, citations and local result set; establish the correct business data; identify the highest-value problems; set up useful tracking; and begin with the issues that create the most risk or friction.

10. Do I need to give you access?

Useful implementation normally requires appropriate access to the website, Google Business Profile and analytics or search tools. Accounts should remain owned by your business. We request only the access needed for agreed work.

11. How do you report progress?

The monthly update should state what was completed, what changed, what the tracking suggests, which blockers remain and what comes next. We avoid padding a report with irrelevant keyword counts or presenting activity as revenue.

12. Do you create reviews or remove negative ones?

No. Reviews must come from real customers. We can help improve the request process and response language. We can also assess whether a review appears to violate platform policy, but removal is never guaranteed.

13. Do you use AI to produce city pages at scale?

Tools can assist research and drafting, but a publishable page still needs accurate, useful and genuinely local substance. SMBify does not treat changing the city name in a template as unique content.

Fit & next steps

Is SMBify right for my business?

14. Which businesses do you serve?

SMBify focuses exclusively on US home-service contractors, including plumbing, HVAC, roofing, tree service, dumpster rental, solar and water-damage restoration companies. The plan is especially suited to owner-led teams and one-to-five-location operators. This focus keeps recommendations grounded in service areas, dispatch realities, seasonality and urgent customer intent.

15. Do you work with brand-new companies?

Yes, when the business is legitimate, eligible for a Google Business Profile and ready to build the foundation patiently. A new company should not expect instant authority, but starting with accurate systems can prevent expensive cleanup later.

16. What do I get from the free audit?

The audit provides a practical first look at the website, profile, citation consistency and local competition. It highlights the clearest issues and recommends an order of operations. It is not a guaranteed ranking forecast or a full forensic technical engagement.

17. How do I start?

Submit the website and email on the free audit page, or contact hello@smbify.net. Share the main trade, business location and important service areas so the review starts with the right market context.
